Congratulations are in order for several Georgia AAU Boys' Basketball participants, for signing letters of intent with different colleges and universities.
1) Marcus Georges-Hunt (AAU - Georgia Stars, HS - North Clayton) signed with Georgia Tech.
2) Ekene Anachebe (AAU - Team Ga. Elite, HS - Fayette County) signed with Old Dominion.
3) Keenan Palmore (AAU - Team Ga. Elite, HS - Paideia) signed with Old Dominion.
4) Chad Porterfield (AAU - Metro Atlanta Gladiators, HS - Brookwood) signed with Oglethorpe University.

Join the Georgia AAU Office for the 2012 Sports Seminar/Sports Meetings at the Smyrna Community Center (200 Village Green Circle SE, Smyrna, GA 30080) on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
This sports seminar, which will be held in conjunction with individual sports meetings, will be a day of information (questions and answers). Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Topics to be discussed are: memberships, sanctions, insurance certificates, club files (log-ins and passwords), and 501(c)(3) non-profit membership.
There will be presenters from the AAU National Office: don't miss out on this great opportunity!
Registration is required, but don't worry, registration is FREE. Registration is easy-breezy; it'll take under a minute to complete.
There will be several giveaways! The top giveaway will be an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2012 AAU National Convention in Hawaii. To be eligible for this door prize, you must have a current AAU membership (2012). Please include your AAU membership number on the application. All other guests who don't have a current AAU membership (2012) will be eligible for all other door prizes.

There are several ways to qualify for the AAU Nationals in the Georgia district: compete in your respective district qualifying tournament (DQT), and then you're on your way! If you compete and don't qualify in your respective DQT, you can qualify by participating in a Super Regional Tournament (SRT).
